The Harpworks Ensemble
Dancing Fingers, Singing Strings

Michelle Stone, Director | Denise Elder, Paulette Miller, Naomi Nathanson, Karen Shelton, Nancy Vaniotis & Akemi Wood

The Harpworks Ensemble was founded in August 2016 by Michelle Whitson- Stone, a professional Harpist, arranger, and educator based in Los Angeles. Long a favorite of wedding and event planners, she has performed for dignitaries and celebrities, including Presidents Clinton, Ford and Reagan, Henry Mancini, Bob Hope, and Quincy Jones. Whitson-Stone is also the founder of Harpworks Music and specializes in creating and publishing pop arrangements for the harp. Her signature arrangements of "Hallelujah", "Moon River", "What the World Needs Now", and "A Thousand Years" are among four of the top ten most popular titles at Harp Column Music.

The Ensemble has performed at many venues across Southern California, including the Motion Picture & Television Fund, the Calabasas Civic Center, a public concert for the Santa Barbara Chapter of the American Harp Society, and numerous retirement campuses between the San Fernando Valley and Santa Barbara. The Ensemble is dedicated to entertaining as well as educating its audiences. Their set list is designed to please all and includes a mix of Latin, classical, spiritual, patriotic, medieval English, gospel, folk, and holiday repertoire. In addition to the performance, Michelle takes time at each concert to educate the audience about the harp. This brief discussion and Q&A are always lively, and the public is enthralled and appreciative.
