In this afternoon concert, KSQ will present a one-of-a-kind program with two major works from 1936: Samuel Barber’s all-time favorite String Quartet and Henry Cowell’s United Quartet, which explores the unknown territory of the percussive sound of strings. Tunes by David Bowie and Jarvinen’s Hymnody show the contemporary progression of string quartet music.
